THE "SHIRT"

For my Creative Technical Studio class at Parsons, we were assigned to design a new garment inspired by the classic shirt. To understand the details within the construction of a shirt we first were taught how to make the classic shirt and then were given class time to play around with old shirts and come up with a new design. The design had to feature either collars, buttons, cuffs or sleeves.

Sketch

I decided to make the waist aperture look like a shirts collar and I created slits on the legs to allude to the buttons in a classic shirt.

Fabric: Grey cotton tweed

Styling: Ties inserted through the collar like a belt.
